Description
Chessington House is an early 18th-century building located on Spring Street in Ewell. It is two storeys high and constructed of red brick, featuring three sash windows. There is a band between the storeys, along with a cornice and a parapet. The entrance has a central doorcase with Doric columns and an open pediment, topped with a radiating fanlight. A 19th-century conservatory is situated above the entrance. The building has a mansard roof covered with old tiles, which includes three flat-topped dormers. There are extensions added in 1888 to both the right and left, designed in a similar style with flat-topped roofs. Inside, the house retains its original staircase, and the northeast lower room features a stone or marble chimney piece, along with various other original features.
