Description

This is an 18th-century house that was refronted in the early 19th century. The exterior is colourwashed plaster. The ground floor has early 19th-century features, including a 12-pane sash window with flush panelled shutters, a pedimented doorcase with panelled pilasters, a similar window with similar shutters, and a double-fronted shop front with two canted bays on plastered bases, a glazed central door, a frieze, and a cornice, set back slightly to the centre. Four mid-19th-century sash windows are located on the first floor. The roof is slate. The interior has not been inspected. The building is designated at Grade II for its architectural interest as an 18th-century house refronted in the early 19th century, reflecting both its domestic and commercial use, and for its group value with other buildings ranging from the 16th to early 19th centuries in the historic centre of the town.
