Description
Spring House is a mid-18th century building located on Spring Street. It stands three storeys tall and is finished with mathematical tiles. The front features a wide full-height canted bay with one large sash window flanked by three smaller sash windows. A parapet crowns the building. To the left of the bay, there is a doorway supported by Doric columns, which includes a triglyph frieze and a pediment. The building also displays a Sun Fire Insurance mark.
On the garden front, which is also of significant value, there are three storeys and four sash windows. The doorcase here is topped with a pediment on brackets and has a capped parapet. Inside, the building features a good staircase, two bedroom fireplace surrounds, and other notable elements, including some Jacobean panelling in the kitchen.
