Description
This is a 19th-century coal tax post located to the east of the racecourse on Epsom Downs. It is made of cast iron and stands on a square plinth with chamfered sides. The post features a panel displaying the City of London Coat of Arms and has a moulded cap. Near the top of the shaft, there is a raised inscription that reads "4 x 25 Vict." The cap measures 42 inches.
