Description
No. 102 Beaconsfield Road is a late 19th-century studio house constructed of red brick. It features a hipped modern roof and is primarily one storey, with a two-storey tower. The front has a verandah supported by wooden posts, which are connected by a balustrade with diagonal struts. There is an open gable at the center of the verandah. The central doorway includes a fanlight and a relieving arch with diagonally laid bricks in the tympanum. On either side of the doorway are casement windows with glazing bars, while a modern plate glass window is to the left in its original opening, and a French casement with glazing bars is to the right. The octagonal tower on the right has one casement window with glazing bars on each side and a pyramidal roof. Inside, there is a central hall that reaches the full height of the house and is illuminated by a large clerestory with a pyramidal roof. The interior also features large brick fireplaces with inglenooks and moulded terracotta panels inset.
