Description
This is a 19th-century coal tax post located at the southeast end of Beaconsfield Road in Epsom. The post is made of cast iron and stands on a square plinth with chamfered sides. It features a panel that displays the City of London Coat of Arms and has a moulded cap. Near the top of the shaft, there is a raised inscription that reads "4 x 25 Vict Cap 42."
