Description

The Chequers is a house dating from the early 18th century. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick cladding on a rendered plinth, and rendered cladding on the return fronts. The roof is plain tiled and hipped, with a half hip to the right and stacks located at the rear. The building has two storeys and an attic on the right-hand return front, which is adorned with three gabled dormers. The street front has two vertical sliding sash windows with cambered heads on the first floor, and the ground floor has additional windows. There is a door located on the left-hand return front, set within a recessed porch that has a hood supported by wooden brackets.
