Description
The Old Red House is a house dating from the early 18th century, with 19th-century additions. It is constructed of red brick on a brick plinth and features a hipped pantiled roof, which is partially obscured by a stone-coped parapet with end stacks. The building has two storeys and an eaves cornice, with five bays; the left-hand bay is from the 19th century. The windows are glazing bar sash windows set under gauged heads, with two of the left being from the 19th century. There is a ground floor angle bay to the left that has a rendered cornice. The centre of the house has a 19th-century rendered porch with a flat roof, supported by block rusticated piers, and a half-glazed door with a transom light. Additionally, there is a 20th-century roughcast addition to the rear left.
