Description

This is a house, now divided into two separate dwellings, Rosewood House and Bramhams Cottage. The core of the building dates back to the 17th century, but the front facade was remodelled in the 18th century. It is timber-framed with a rendered front and tiled roofs. The ends have rendered stacks, with further stacks at the rear. The house is three storeys high and has a parapet. Rusticated quoins mark the ends, and a modillion cornice runs above the second floor. There are four bays, with glazing bar sash windows set in wooden strip surrounds. An exception is the left two windows on the first floor. A flat-roofed bay window, added in the 19th century, extends from the left ground floor, while a pentice-roofed bay window is on the right ground floor. The centre has doorways: a six-panelled door under a flat hood on brackets leads to Bramhams Cottage (No.66), and a 20th-century six-panelled door under a similar hood leads to Rosewood House (No.64). A single-storey addition with a hipped slate roof extends from the left end, featuring two casement windows with moulded surrounds. Lower wings extend to the rear.
