Description

Walrus House is a house, possibly originally including the adjacent Hillsleigh property. It is probably of mediaeval origin, but the front was remodelled in the late 19th century. The construction is of rubble with a Cotswold stone roof, and features a large, partly ashlar stack on the right side. The house has two storeys and attics, with two gabled dormers. The front features two windows; these are glazing-bar sash windows with chamfered wooden lintels on the first floor, and a glazing-bar shop window on the ground floor. A plain entry is located on the left side. The front of the building has been significantly altered in the last 100 years. Two end pieces of timber visible within the wall may suggest a former timber frame or jetty.
