Description

Westhall Hill Manor Farmhouse is likely to date from the mid-17th century, with later 18th century and 20th century alterations. It is constructed of stone rubble with a stone slate roof and various stone stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys and an attic, with a five-window front. A carriage archway is situated to the right, featuring a basket arch with a keystone and impost blocks. A 20th century stone porch with a 20th century plank door occupies the centre. Stone mullion windows, with hood moulds, are present; the ground floor has four-light windows to the left, left of centre, and to the right of centre, while the first floor has three-light windows to the left, left of centre, and to the right of centre, with a two-light window in the centre. There’s a three-light window set between the first floor and the attic to the right. Four coped-cross-gables have stone finials and two-light stone mullion windows with hood moulds. An 18th century addition is located to the left, built of uncoursed stone rubble with a stone slate roof, standing two storeys and two windows wide, with an irregular pattern of casement windows and a 20th century part-glazed door to the right. The interior has not been inspected, but it is likely to be of interest.
