Description
Asterleigh Farmhouse is a Grade II listed farmhouse that has been divided into two residences. It dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with a 19th-century addition. The building is constructed of squared and coursed limestone and features a slate roof, forming an L-plan layout. It has two storeys and a gable-lit attic, along with a two-storey addition. The farmhouse has a chamfered plinth and integral stone end stacks with weatherings. The front has two windows, which are late 20th-century wooden casements with flat stone arches and stone cills. There is a central 20th-century half-glazed door with a rectangular three-part overlight. The 19th-century addition on the right has a stone end stack and features a 20th-century two-light wooden casement on each floor, with the ground floor window having a wooden lintel. Inside, the left-hand ground-floor room includes a chamfered spine beam and a partly-blocked fireplace to the left with a wooden lintel. The first floor of the rear wing also has chamfered beams.
