Description

Lower Farm includes a barn, stable, and sheltershed located approximately 20 meters southeast of the farmhouse. The barn dates from the 17th century, featuring a 19th-century roof structure on the left and a 20th-century roof structure on the right. It is constructed of coursed squared stone and has a stone slate roof. The barn has six bays and a gabled stone midstrey to the left of center, which includes double plank doors with a wood lintel at the front, and a pedestrian plank door on the right side, set in a shouldered stone doorway with a flat stone hood on stone brackets. There is also an elongated stable door to the right.

Inside the barn, there is a 19th-century queen-post roof on the left and a 20th-century roof structure on the right. To the right of the barn is an attached stable, likely built in the early 18th century, also made of coursed squared stone with a stone slate roof. This stable is two stories high and has five bays, with a stable door to the left of center and external stone stairs leading to a first-floor plank door. Carriage doors are located on the right side. The interior features a trench-purlin roof, along with some grain bins on the first floor and a feeding rack and trough on the ground floor.

Adjacent to the stable is a sheltershed, probably from the late 18th century. It is a single-storey, six-bay structure made of coursed squared stone with a stone slate roof. The front bays are divided by round stone columns with square bases and caps. Inside, there is a trench purlin roof with some alterations.
