Description
42 and 43 Taynton is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone with a stone slate roof and features a 20th-century stone end stack on the right. The building is two stories high and has a three-window range. There is a 20th-century plank door in the center, which is topped by a flat stone hood supported by shaped brackets. The ground floor has three-light stone mullion windows on the left and right, both with hood moulds. The first floor has two-light stone mullion windows.
Attached to the left are two cottages, now part of the house, built in the 18th century. These are also made of coursed squared stone with a stone slate roof and have a stone ridge stack in the center. This section is also two stories high with a three-window range. It features 20th-century sash doors on the left and to the right of center, both with stone flat hoods on shaped stone brackets. The ground floor includes three-light stone mullion windows to the left of center and in the center, and a two-light stone mullion window on the right. The first floor has a three-light stone mullion window in the center and two-light stone mullion windows to the left and right of center. The interiors of both sections have not been inspected.
