Description
Lower Farmhouse is a farmhouse that probably dates from the mid-17th century. It is built of stone ashlar and has a stone slate roof, with stone end stacks and a ridge stack located to the left of the center. The building is two stories high and features a five-window range, with a two-story porch and attic to the left of the center.
The porch has a ribbed door leading to a four-centre-arched doorway, which is adorned with a hood mould and end stops. To the right of the doorway, there are two four-light stone mullion windows, each with hood moulds. To the left, there is a four-light stone mullion window with a hood mould, and to the right of the center, there is a two-light stone mullion window with a hood mould. On the first floor to the left, there are two three-light stone mullion windows, both with hood moulds. A single-light casement window with a hood mould is located to the right of the center, while a two-light stone mullion window with a hood mould can be found on the first floor of the porch. Lastly, there is a single-light casement window in the attic cross-gable. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
