Description
Byway is a cottage that likely dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble and features a thatched roof with a stone end stack on the right. The building is single storey with an attic and has a two-bay range. There is a plank door located to the left of the center and a 2-light stone mullion window to the right of the center. A gabled dormer with a 2-light casement is positioned to the right of the center.
Additionally, there is another cottage that probably dates from the early 18th century, also made of coursed stone rubble but with a stone slate roof. This building is similarly single storey with an attic and has a two-bay range, featuring irregularly placed casement windows. The interiors of both cottages have not been inspected.
