Description

The property at 22 Taynton is an early 18th-century house with later additions to the left and right. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a pitched stone slate roof and stone end stacks to the central range and right wing. The house is single-storied with an attic, featuring a two-window central range, a lower two-story, two-bay wing to the right, and a single-story, single-bay wing to the left. The windows are casements, with irregular placement. Two gabled half-dormers with 20th-century casements are present on the central range. Plank doors are located at the rear of the building. The interior has not been inspected. The building is designated for its early fabric; it represents a good example of a vernacular cottage from the early 18th century. It also holds group value with numbers 20, 23, 33, and 35, alongside other listed buildings in the village centre.
