Description
This group of three chest tombs, located approximately 25 meters south of the Church of St. Michael and All Angels, dates from 1703, 1718, and 1744 and is made of marlstone. The earliest tomb features a moulded cover and recessed panels decorated with an egg and dart motif; the southern panels include verses, while the western side commemorates Lisley, the wife of John Hyorne, Mason, who died in 1703. The northern tomb has a moulded cover with shield-shaped end panels supported by consoles, and a rectangular panel on the north side flanked by scrolls, commemorating John Hyorn, Mason, who died in 1718. The western tomb also has a moulded corner and fielded panels, with an inscription honoring Cathrine, the wife of John Hyorn, Mason, who died in 1744.
