Description
This barn, located approximately 130 meters north-north-east of the Church of St. Philip, is likely from 1801, built on earlier foundations. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with wooden lintels and features a corrugated-asbestos roof. The barn has a five-bay plan, a porch, and opposed rear doors. The walls contain several short slit openings, and the porch gable displays two datestones inscribed "WB/1616" and "WM:CB/1801". Inside, the structure has trusses with tiebeams and collars that support two rows of butt purlins. There are blocked doorways in the side walls of the porch, which have chamfered lintels. The initials "WB" likely refer to William Blower, the Lord of the manor, who constructed the church tower in 1617.
