Description

The Minster Lovell Manor Dovecot is a 15th-century dovecot constructed from coursed stone rubble. It features a stone slate conical roof and a wood-framed glover, also with a stone slate conical roof. The dovecot has a round plan and includes a plank door, with projecting stone bands at the eaves. Inside, there are stone nesting boxes built into the walls and a conical wood roof structure. This dovecot is part of the manorial farm that is located next to the manor house, which was owned by the Lovell family from the 12th century until 1485. The structure is scheduled as an Ancient Monument.
