Description

Bridge House is a late 18th or early 19th century house, refurbished in the 20th century. It's constructed of coursed rubble limestone with semi-dressed quoins, and has a stone slate roof with rubble chimneys. The house is two storeys and an attic, with two bays. It features four-pane sash windows with wooden lintels, although the sashes themselves are 20th-century replacements. There are two gabled roof dormers with matching sashes. The central entrance has a renewed 6-panelled door, topped with a flat wooden cornice hood supported by brackets. A narrow, single-storey extension to the right, with a matching sash window, connects the house to the Elephant and Castle Inn. Later lean-to and gabled extensions are present at the rear.
