Description

The gatepiers and gates located approximately 115 meters south of Cornwell Manor were designed in 1939 by Clough Williams Ellis for Mrs. Anthony Gillson. The gatepiers are made of limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins, moulded capping, and ball finials, and are square in section. They are connected by wrought-iron gates that have urn-shaped standards and a scrolled overthrow. This structure is one of two sets that form part of the southern vista from Cornwell Manor and is included for its group value.
