Description

Cartref is a cottage that appears to date from the early 18th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and features a Cotswold stone roof with a chimney on the right side. The building has two storeys and two windows: on the first floor, there are Yorkshire sash windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor has a wide window with glazing bars that replaces an earlier 3- or 4-light ovolo-moulded mullion window, with the sill appearing as the former cornice. To the left of the cottage, there is a doorway that shows evidence of stopped ovolo mouldings, with the jambs being chamfered. The cottage is shown on the Ordnance Survey map as The Cottage.
