Description

Byways is a cottage dating from the 17th century, which was altered in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with a Cotswold stone roof, featuring a coped verge on the left side and brick chimneys at each end. The building has two storeys and an attic, with two gabled dormers. There are two windows on the front, which are glazing-bar sashes adorned with keystones. The central doorway is plain and has a half-glazed door. Flanking the entrance are two basement openings with labels, although the right-hand one is blocked. Each floor has single-light gabled end windows with rebated chamfers.
