Description

This is a house dated 1743, as indicated by a datestone. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with a gabled stone slate roof and end stacks finished in brick. The house originally comprised two units, and later expanded. The main section is two storeys high with a two-window front. A 20th-century porch has been added. The windows are 19th-century two-light casements with iron fittings, set within keyed flat stone arches. To the right is a two-storey, three-window range of similar materials, featuring a hoist opening. A buttressed two-storey-and-attic section, also built from the same materials, stands to the left, featuring a brick end stack, 20th-century windows, and a segmental stone arch over a blocked door. A late 19th-century two-storey range complements the structure to the left. The interior has not been inspected, but is thought to contain features of interest. The building holds group value, which means it contributes significantly to the character of its surrounding area.
