Description
Two houses, numbered 21 and 23, stand on Park Street, dated 1763 based on a stone inscription, with extensions added in the late 18th century. The left house (number 21) is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, while the house to the right (number 23) is of Flemish bond brick. Both have gabled concrete tile roofs and brick end stacks. The buildings follow a three-unit plan and are two storeys high, with a three-window front. Number 21 features a timber lintel over a 20th-century plank door, a flat stone arch above a 20th-century casement window, and an early 19th-century canted brick bay window to the left. Number 23 has a stone lintel with a plain flat stone hood over a plank door, a canted bay window to the right, and a cambered brick arch over a 20th-century casement. A single-storey range, built of similar materials, adjoins the right side. The interior has not been inspected, but it is likely to contain features of interest. These houses are included on the list for their contribution to the group value of the surrounding area.
