Description
Bladon Church of England Primary School and School House is a school and schoolhouse built in 1858, with an enlargement to the right completed in 1890. The building is constructed of squared and coursed limestone, featuring a stone-coped old tile roof with a crested ridge and lozenges of coloured tiles on the School House to the left. It has moulded stone end stacks and a double-depth plan linked by a central porch, showcasing Gothic Revival architectural styles.
The Church House to the left is a one-storey building with an attic and a two-window range. It has a central porch with a lean-to roof that includes a half-glazed door. The tympanum arches above the two- and three-light trefoil-headed windows, and there is a canted bay window to the right with similar lights. To the right, the Gothic-style timber porch features a pointed-arched doorway that serves as the entrance to the school. The school has a double-gabled front and hood moulds with head stops above two two-light and three-light Decorated-style windows. The interior has not been inspected.
