Description

The property at 47 Sutton Lane is a house dating from the late medieval period, which was subsequently remodelled in the 17th century and the late 19th century. It is a cruck-framed building, with rendered external walls and a half-hipped thatched roof, featuring a 19th-century brick ridge stack. The house has a three-unit plan, extending over one storey with an attic, and has a two-window front. A 20th-century door is located centrally, flanked by late 19th and 20th-century two-light casement windows. To the right of the door is a 19th-century plank door. Internally, there are 17th-century chamfered beams. A full cruck truss, dating from the late medieval original house, survives to the left of the entrance door. A partial inspection only was possible.
