ENSTONE CHURCH STREET SP3625-3725 (North side) Church Enstone 14/46 Lychgate approx. 15m S of tower of Church of St. Kenelm

GV II

Lych gate. 1856 by G. E. Street. Timber-framing and limestone ashlar; Stonesfield-slate roof. Gothic style. Low stone side walls with an open arcaded timber upper stage support 2 arch-braced collar trusses and the steep-pitched roof. The chamfers of the wooden posts and bressumers are carved with 4-petalled flowers, the collars with crenellations, and the arched braces and bressumers with inscriptions, one commemorating members of the Marshall family.
