Description

A row of four houses on Manor Road, Woodstock, dating from the 17th century, with Nos. 66-70 rebuilt in 1737 and later alterations. The houses are constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a gabled stone slate roof, concrete tiles to the rear and No. 64, and brick ridge and end stacks. Nos. 66-70 form a two-unit plan cottage row, while No. 64 is a two-unit plan house to the right. Nos. 66-70 are two storeys and an attic, with a three-window front, and feature a datestone inscribed "B/IE/1737." Timber lintels are above three 20th-century doors, and 20th-century casements and 19th-century two- and three-light casements are in the right bay. Gabled dormers are present. There are three partially rendered, 18th-century gabled bays to the rear. No. 64 has a multi-gabled roof and features a blocked front door, with a 20th-century door on the right side wall. The interiors of Nos. 66 and 68 were not inspected. The interior of No. 64 includes a 17th-century newel staircase rising to the attic, 17th-century plank doors to the first floor and attic, and old purlins in the attic.
