Description

The Cottage is a cottage, likely dating to the late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of roughly coursed marlstone rubble with a straw thatched roof. The building is single storey with an attic, which is lit from the rear. The ground floor features a three-light metal casement window with a wooden lintel to the left, and a half-glazed door set under a gabled hood to the right. An integral end stack with a red brick shaft is located to the left. Inside the left-hand ground-floor room is a chamfered spine beam with stepped ogee stops. A plank door leads to an oak winder staircase on the left of the fireplace.
