Description
Malt House is a house dating from the late 17th century with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of roughly coursed and partly banded limestone and marlstone rubble, topped with a stone slate roof featuring coped verges and a carved apex on the front gable. The building has two storeys and a gable-lit attic. The gable front has three-light chamfered mullion windows on both the ground and first floors, and a two-light chamfered mullion window with a dripstone on the ground floor to the left. The attic features a two-light chamfered mullion window, all equipped with dripstones. At the rear, there is an internal red brick end stack with a purple engineering brick capping, and the outline of an earlier roof pitch is visible on the gable. Attached to the rear are 19th-century single-storey outbuilding extensions. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
