Description

This is a late medieval barn, extended in the 18th century. It stands approximately 60 metres north-northeast of the farmhouse at Rectory Farm. The barn has a 7-bay plan, including a central threshing floor. It is cruck-framed, with timber framing and weatherboarding over a limestone rubble plinth, and has a gabled corrugated iron roof. The interior features 4 full crucks, each with arch-braced collars and a saddled apex, and trenches for two levels of purlins. The end walls and collar trusses have butt purlins added in the 18th century.
