Description
This is an early to mid-18th century outbuilding attached to number 78 in Witney West End. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with dressed quoins and has a gabled concrete tile roof. The building features a brick ridge stack and has a two-unit plan. The gabled front faces the street and includes a timber lintel over a 19th-century panelled stable door and a canted bay window with glazing-bar sashes. Above, there is a timber lintel over an 8-pane sash window on the first floor. The right side wall has a horizontal-sliding sash window set in a keyed stone architrave, and there is a mid-19th century service range at the rear. The interior has not been inspected. The outbuilding itself, also from the early to mid-18th century and made of similar materials, is two storeys high and is attached to the right. It features a timber lintel over plank double doors, an old plank door with a Norfolk latch to the right, a 3-light casement window, and a plank loft door above. The outbuilding is noted for its collar-truss roof.
