Description

The gatepiers and gates located approximately 105 meters south of Cornwell Manor were designed in 1939 by Clough Williams Ellis for Mrs. Anthony Gillson. The gatepiers are constructed from limestone rubble with ashlar quoins, featuring moulded capping and ball finials, and are square in section. They are connected by decorative wrought-iron gates that include a scrolled overthrow. This is one of two sets of gates that enhance the south vista from Cornwell Manor and is included in the listing for its group value.
