Description
Nicholl's Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse located on the west side of Eynsham Road in Stanton Harcourt. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled concrete tile roof. It has a brick stack at the left end and an external stone stack finished in brick at the right end. The farmhouse has a two-unit plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a two-window range.
The front includes a 20th-century door set within a heavy pegged frame from the 18th century, located to the right. Above this door, there are timber lintels over 19th-century two- and three-light altered casements, as well as 20th-century casements in gabled roof dormers. To the right, there is a one-storey range built with similar materials and a half-hipped roof.
Although the interior has not been inspected, it is likely to be of interest, featuring chamfered beams and re-used or altered upper cruck with a saddled apex and through purlins.
