Description
Manor Farm Cottage is a house dating back to the 17th century, with an addition built in the 18th or early 19th century. It is located 50 metres to the south west of The Old Rectory. The original part of the house is constructed from coursed rubble limestone with dressed quoins, and has a stone slate roof. The chimney shafts were rebuilt in brick during the 20th century. This section of the house is two storeys high with an attic, and has two bays. It features chamfered stone mullion windows with Tudor hoodmoulds, and wooden and metal casements. The right-hand bay and the first floor of the left-hand bay have three-light windows. The ground floor of the left-hand bay has a four-light window. A two-light attic window, without a hoodmould, is located in the right gable end. A blocked doorway is situated in the centre of the front elevation, with a chimney to the left. To the left end of the original house is a lower, one-storey extension with an attic and two bays. The ground floor of the extension has 20th-century three-light metal casements with concrete lintels. The upper storey has a two-light wooden casement in a gabled dormer within the eaves on the right-hand side. A 20th-century door is located on the right-hand side, with a gabled wooden hood supported on brackets. A central chimney is present on the extension.
