Description
This is a barn dating from the early to mid-18th century, located to the northwest of Lower Farmhouse. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with stone dressings and has a stone slate roof. The barn features five bays and two tiers of square vent holes. There are central opposed cart entrances, and a gabled porch at the front that includes a pair of large boarded doors with wooden lintels. To the left of the porch, there is a boarded door with an angled stone-slated lean-to porch. Lean-to cowhouses are situated to the right of the front porch and at the right-hand gable end. The lintel of the rear cart entrance is a raised ceiling beam, which shows mortices for joists. Inside, the barn has collar-and-tie-beam trusses and pairs of purlins.
