Description
Moor Mill Farmhouse cowhouse, located approximately 100 metres north of the farmhouse, dates from the mid to late 18th century. It features weatherboarding over a light timber frame set on a brick plinth, topped with a thatched roof. The structure has a 4-bay plan with a single aisle and opposing entries. There are four blocked windows with shutter hinges on the side walls and opposing gable entries with 18th-century stable doors, all beneath a hipped roof. Inside, the building has arch-braced construction from post to wall-plate and tie-beam, along with a 4-bay queen-strut roof featuring clasped purlins. This cowhouse is a good example that retains its original weatherboarding and fittings.
