Description
Kingston Lisle House features an entrance gate to Kingston Lisle Park, dating from the early 19th century. The gate is marked by limestone ashlar piers and flanking walls that are finished in imitation stone render over brick, with additional piers. The elaborate wrought-iron gates have a crested top and are flanked by square piers that include plain plinth blocks, a moulded cornice, and ball finials. The gates are accompanied by low walls with plain iron railings that angle out to square piers topped with pyramidal coping. The walls return straight to the piers at the sides, maintaining the same detailing. This structure is included for its group value.
