Description
This barn, located approximately 15 meters northeast of Cox's Hall, dates from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a five-bay plan with a central threshing floor. There are 20th-century plank double doors and square ventilation holes on all side and gable walls. The roof is gabled. Inside, the barn has a five-bay Queen strut roof with butt purlins, although mortice holes in the soffits of all collars indicate that it was originally a queen post roof, which was altered at a later date. This barn is included for its group value, as it is part of a collection that includes a stable and an attached cartshed at Cox's Hall.
