Description
1 and 2 The Green is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It dates from the 17th century, with an early 18th-century addition at the end of the cross-wing, and has undergone alterations in the 20th century. The building is roughcast, likely over timber framing, with the early 18th-century addition featuring roughcast on brick. It has an old plain-tile roof, a brick end stack on the right, a ridge stack in the center, and a rendered lateral stack on the left return of the cross-wing. The structure is L-shaped, with a single storey and attic, comprising a single bay and a two-bay cross-wing. There is a 19th-century plank door with a lean-to hood to the left and irregularly placed casement windows. The early 18th-century addition has a flat band between the ground and attic floors. Inside, there is a Queen-post roof and chamfered spine beams on the ground floor of No. 1. The interior of No. 2 has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
