Description
Chilton House is a house, originally built in the mid-17th century. A further section was added in the 18th century, and then later additions and alterations were made in the 19th century. The property has been divided into four dwellings. The construction varies across the building: a 19th-century brick plinth is present, with an uncoursed rubble stone plinth to the right-hand section. The central range features small timber framing with 19th-century brick infilling. The ground floor on the left is brick and knapped flint in a chequer pattern, while the first floor and gable ends are tile-hung. The roof is covered with plain tiles, and has complex chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high, with a three-window central range, and cross-wings to both the right and left. A plank door is situated to the right of the central range. Windows are generally 19th-century casements, except for a 19th-century bay window to the right of the centre. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
