Description

The Exedra, located approximately 150 meters north of Buckland House, was built around 1757, likely designed by John Wood the younger of Bath for Sir Robert Throckmorton. It is constructed from limestone ashlar with vermiculated rustication, and the sides and rear are made of coursed limestone rubble. The building has a square plan and features a keyed semi-circular arch at the pedimented front, with vermiculated rustication in the tympanum and square piers topped with ball finials at the front corners.
