Description
Nos. 3 and 4 at St Helen's Wharf are mid-19th century cottages, built as a single storey structure. They are constructed of yellow brick with red brick dressings and feature a hipped tile roof with red ridge tiles. The eaves have a coved cornice. Each cottage has three windows with red brick segmental arches, six light wood mullions, and glazing bars. The cottages sit on a red brick plinth, and the doors are set back, with the upper part featuring marginal glazing and two panels below. The red brick quoins and door and window dressings display a dog-tooth pattern. The doorway to No. 3 is located in the lower section next to the Old Anchor Inn, featuring wooden rooted arcading with balusters that flank the entrance and form a porch. There are three tall moulded double chimney stacks and two red brick gate piers. Nos. 1 to 4 form a group.
