Description
Step Farmhouse is a chequered brick farmhouse dating from around 1820. It is two stories high with an attic and has an L-shaped plan. The roof is covered with stone tiles and features end wall stacks and three gabled dormers. There is a dentilled brick eaves course. The front has a three-window range of glazing bar sash windows, with the center section breaking forward and topped with a pediment. The outer windows have cambered gauged brick heads. The central doorway is round arched, with a gauged brick head and a radiating bar fanlight above it. There is also a central lunette above in a gauged brick surround. The rear wing is constructed of rubble stone and brick, featuring a half-hipped gable. There are later brick buildings located in the rear angle.
