Description
Eastmanton House barn, located approximately 8 metres north of Eastmanton House, is a Grade II listed building. This barn, now used as a sauna and hall, features a timber frame set on a base of chalk block and brick. It has a square framing design with diagonal braces and brick infill, along with weatherboarding and brick cladding on the south gable wall. The roof is thatched and has a half-hipped design. The barn has a 5-bay plan that includes an east aisle and a central threshing floor, and it is a single storey.
The facade displays two panels of square framing that extend from the ground floor to the eaves, while the lower rear wall consists of only one panel deep. There are 20th-century sliding glass doors in the central bay and a 20th-century door providing entry to the gable on the right side. Inside, the barn features a 5-bay collar-truss roof supported by butt purlins and wind braces. Additionally, there is a 20th-century brick extension at the rear right.
