Description

This barn, located approximately 150 meters southwest of Challow Mead, dates from the 18th century. It features weatherboarding over a timber frame, set on a base of brick and limestone rubble, with an asbestos sheet roof. The barn has a four-bay plan and old strap hinges on its 20th-century double doors. The roof is gabled and half-hipped. Inside, the structure includes posts that are braced to the wall plate and tie beams, as well as a four-bay collar-truss roof with side struts, clasped purlins, and windbraces.
