Description
Fairview is a house that was originally two cottages, dating from the early to mid-17th century. It features square timber framing with arch braces and brick infill, topped with a thatched roof. There are brick stacks and a coursed limestone rubble base on the left side. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high, with a three-window range. The front includes a 20th-century door and casement windows. The first floor has canted bay windows supported by carved brackets. The gabled roof has external stacks at the gable ends, with the left stack featuring a projection for a bread oven. To the right of the front, there is a one-storey wash-house built in similar materials, with a hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
