Description

This is a late 16th and early 17th century farmhouse, now used as a house, located in West Challow Orchard Gardens. It is built with a timber frame featuring angle braces; the front right wing is rendered, and the roof is thatched. The house has an L-shaped plan, with a three-unit lobby-entry main range. It is one storey high with an attic, and has a three-window front. A mid-20th century porch and door have been added. The windows are mid-19th century casements, and the roof is gabled with a ridge stack. Later 19th and 20th century extensions are present to the rear. The interior, which has not been inspected, is reported to contain full sets of chamfered spine beams with run-out stops and joists to the left of the stack, a chamfered bressumer over the fireplace, and an 18th century staircase in the front right wing.
